Early Pregnancy Signs & Symptoms
There are plenty of women who stress over different signs and symptoms of pregnancy. Pregnancy is in fact, one of the most important aspects of a woman’s life, so knowing the early signs will help you prepare your body.
Cramping and Spotting
In as little as 6 and up to 12 days after a successful conception, the fertilized egg will work its way into your uterus. This is known as implantation which can cause cramping and even bleeding. Some women may confuse this as a sign of their actual menstruation. Compared to menstruation which is usually regular-heavy flows, implantation will have less blood and thick mucus like discharge coming out together. The mucus may be attributed to the thickening of your vaginal walls which is an automatic body response during pregnancy.
Changes in the Breast
Most women will experience physical changes especially on the breast area. During pregnancy, the body will produce high amounts of progesterone and estrogen causing the breast to become swollen, tender and sensitive. This means your breast can become sore when you are pregnant. The hormones will also cause the areola, the direct area around the nipples to become darker. Fatigue If you are getting too tired to do your regular daily patterns, or you start dozing off in the middle of your workday, then you may be pregnant. Fatigue can also be a sign of health problems, so it is best that you check with your physician if you are feeling tired all the time. In pregnancy, your energy and calories are now being shared with the baby inside your womb, so do not be surprised if you experience fatigue.
Morning sickness, which includes nausea and vomiting, is the most classic sign that you are on your way to becoming a mother. More than 70% of expectant mothers experience morning sickness during the first trimester. Morning sickness can be attributed to hormonal changes, which cause the stomach to empty slower. This action will cause dizziness and vomiting in the process.
Absence of Monthly Period
One of the surest signs that you are pregnant is the absence of your regular menstruation. This sign is especially true to women who have regular menstruations and have regular sexual activity. Missing a period in as little as 3 days could actually mean that you are pregnant.
Not all women have headaches during pregnancy, but this is usually caused by the rapid changes in your hormones.
Constipation or Diarrhea
Changes in your body may cause you break down food slower or faster. Moreover, your prenatal vitamins can also be a culprit. These symptoms can be handled by increasing fluid intake.
If you feel like passing gas more often, then you may be looking at signs of pregnancy. Typically, pregnancy bloating is more intense than the usual bloating you experience during ovulation.
If you are irritable all the sudden, then you may be pregnant. Irritability and mood swings are very common to women during the first trimester of their pregnancy.
Bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and fatigue are all major culprits in backache. It is not surprising if you experience chronic backache throughout the course of your pregnancy. Backache can be very painful, so you may want to check with your doctor on how you can handle this better.
Frequent urination is a major sign for most women. The increased need to visit the bathroom which can already cause disruption of regular activities can be a sign of pregnancy. During the first trimester, your body may be putting on pressure to your urinary track, thus the urge.
Not all women experience food cravings or food aversions. But if you feel this, then you may be pregnant. There are plenty of other pregnancy signs. Understanding how your body changes will help you prepare better for the baby.
